Bikes Gone Wild?

We saw this in an alleyway in Harvard Square earlier this evening. A fence full of bikes is a surer sign of spring's arrival than crocuses!

Some seemed to be particularly effected by Spring Fever. Are these bikes up to no good?

The old Roadster was bemused, recalling his own wild youth in the '60s.

Of course, our Miles and Marianne were more discreet and only nuzzled affectionately. Happy Spring and happy cycling!

  1. Velouria, Do both Miles and Marianne feature the 7-liter Carradice bag? Or is Miles wearing the 11-liter? I'm torn on which size is most practical for my combination of every day riding (carrying a few things to the office, picking up a loaf of bread, etc.) and the occasional all-day outing.

  2. Mike - On the Co-Habitan't bike is the Carradice Barley, which has 7L capacity. I reviewed it here. On my bike is a Zimbale bag of the same size, just bought it today at my local Harris Cyclery. We find this size sufficient for light touring and small grocery trips, given that these are our non-commuter bikes.

  3. Now I'm wondering what a bike-calf/colt would look like?

  4. imaginarybicycle - This particular one would probably be buttercream with white spots. If lugs are a recessive gene, perhaps it could even be lugged!

  9. I just today got your comment on my blog from January (you had found my mean-spirited Splice Today article on fountain pens through FPN). But what a nice blog you have here! Could this be the only snark-free (or nearly snark free) bicycle website on the internet? I'm jeal of your classic steel bikes and their vaguely British bags.
